The B.Tech(EEE) course started in year 1998 along with the college inception with intial intake of 60 students. In due corse the strenght has enchanced to 120 and presently the intake is 180.This the first college in this region, to start M.Tech(Power Electronics) course among the affiliated colleges of JNTUH in the year 2004.
The Department has well equipped laboratories for both B.Tech & M.Tech(PE) course. Most of the faculty are M.Tech degree holders from reputed organizations like NITW, JNTU and Jadapur University etc.The Department encourages the faculty for higher studies. At present four faculty are pursuing their Ph.D.Senior faculty guide several B.Tech and M.Tech students in their project work.
Department conducts MATLAB training programmes for students regulary.Department encourages the faculty in participating and organizing the faculty orientation programmes regulary. Also motivates the faculty towards research activity and has a good number of publications in both National and International papers.
EEE Department has well equipped laboraties for both B.Tech & M.Tech(PE) courses. Some of the advanced equipments like DSP Training Testing Kit, PSoc EVAL Evaluation Kit, Three Phace Cyclo Converter, Single Phase & Three Phase IGBT PWM Inverters, Power Scope, Licensed MATLAB Software, Single Phase PWM Inverters and etc.
Department is also taking care of IEEE Student Branch which was started in the year 2005.At present, it has 100 students members which makes the branch as the largest student branch in this region.Under this branch, we regulary conduct various activities like National Student Profession Awarness Congress(NSPAC) every year.As part of that, it has been organized prestigious IEEE Zonal Student Congress Meet successfully on 13-14, 2005
Profile of Head of the Department :
Mr.K.Prakesh received his M.Tech(Power Systems, 2003) from National Institute of technology, Warangal. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D(Electrical Engineering) National Institute of technology, warangal. His areas of interset include Distribution System Studies, Economic Operation of Power Systems, Artificial Intelligence Techniques and Meta-HHeuristics Techniques.
The Department has a good staff strength that includes 2 Professors, 6 Associate Professors and 34 Assistant Professors.
Strong research groups exist in areas of artificial intelligence, information security, and data mining. Close ties are maintained with researchers with computational interests in other university departments. The R&D cell headed by Prof. K. Mrithyumjaya Rao has grown in strength and quality of work since its inception in 2006. Initially, work was focused on Robot stability control and GIS missile trajectory areas. Today, the centre concentrates on Data Mining, Natural Language Processing and Network Security. In addition, both faculty and students commonly work with investigators at nearby research or industrial institutions.
