The Institute has, at present 192 faculty members, and as a policy the institute maintains the teacher-taught ratio of 1:15. Most of them have postgraduate qualification and 10% faculty members have doctoral degrees from prestigious institutions. Majority of the faculty members of the Institute the life members of ISTE and other professional bodies like IETE, IEEE.
The faculty members actively participate in curriculum designing, evolving effective strategies of instruction, preparation of learning materials, development of labs, student counseling, curricular and co-curricular activities, apart from organizing educational tours and industrial training for the students.
Recruitment, Strategies for Attracting and Retention of Faculty Personnel for Excellence, Promotional Avenues, Career Ladder:
The faculty and staff of the College are being recruited calling the applications from the eligible candidates buy giving Notification in the reputed daily news papers all over the country. The selection committee is being constituted as per the norms of the AICTE. As per the recommendations of the selection committee; the eligible selected candidates are recruited with the approval of the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad.
The faculty is being paid the emoluments in AICTE prescribed pay scales with all other allowances such as DA, HRA, CCA, etc. The Institute also contributed towards their Provident Fund under E.P.F. to Non-teaching staff regularly the faculty is being promoted under Career Advancement Scheme (CAS). In addition to that the faculties, who are having higher qualifications i.e. Post Graduate or Doctoral degrees, are paid the additional increments. Every year the College is advertising for senior faculty particularly in the branches of CSE and ECE. Suitable candidates are selected by conducting interviews as per the guidelines of AICTE.
The faculty is encouraged to pursue higher studies i.e. M.Tech. and Ph.D. through QIP Program or sponsorship. The faculty members are encouraged to present their research publications in National / International Journals for which incentives in terms of cash awards are given. They are also encouraged to attend the winter / summer school, Workshops and Seminars and Technical Symposia for which financial assistance is provided.
Policies for Teaching and Non-teaching Staff Development:
Teaching:
1. The faculty members are encouraged for publishing the research papers in National / International Journals to which the financial assistance is provided by the College.
2. The faculty members are encouraged to pursue higher studies i.e. M.Tech and Ph.D. under QIP of AICTE to which they are paid salary for the period of their deputation.
3. The faculty members are encouraged to attend the STTPs conducted by the leading technical institutions such as IITs, NITs, IISc. Etc.
4. The faculty members are provided with the teaching aids for effective teaching in the class rooms.
5. The faculty members are encouraged to develop teaching aids in subject being taught by them to benefit of the students.
6. The course evaluation of the teacher is being carried out by the students and the feed back is transferred to the teacher to improve his/her teaching.
Non-Teaching:
1. The staff is provided training in various trades to enable them to become eligible to handle any machinery in the laboratories.
2. They are deputed to train themselves in new trades to the Institutions such as Advance Training Institute, Central Machine Tool Design etc. at Hyderabad.
Perrmanent and Contract Services for Teaching, Non-teaching and other support Personnel:
Teaching:
Majority of the faculty members are on permanent basis some of the faculty members are on contract basis for teaching, as they do not possess M.Tech. They will be regularized after getting their M.Tech. Degree.
Non-Teaching:
Non-teaching staff in all essential services such as Office, Academic departments, maintenance unit are all on regular basis. The additional manpower required for sanitary, cleaning and gardening are recruited on contract basis. The security of the College has been entrusted to an agency. The construction of buildings has been given to contractors on per-unit-basis.
Total Quality Management:
The teachers are asked to prepare the lecture notes well in advance as per their lecture schedule for each subject. The coverage of syllabus is monitored by the respective head of the departments. The class review committees consisting of all the teachers of the class and three student representatives review the coverage of syllabus and attendance of students twice in a semester.
At the end of semester the course is evaluated by the students concerned and the feed back is transferred to teacher to improve his / her teaching. If the teacher is unable to maintain the standards in teaching, he / she is being warned to improve his / her teaching. If no improvement is found, his / her services will be terminated.
Each laboratory in the department is under the control of a faculty member and it is his / her duty to keep the equipment in condition and prepare the laboratory schedule. The maintenance of the lab equipment is taken up during summer vacation either in house or inviting the supplier for maintenance. The faculty member concerned has to provide all the information about the up-keep of the instruments to the respective head of the departments.
The result of the students in the end semester examination are monitored regularly vis-à-vis their sessional marks. The performance of the students is informed to the respective parents / guardians regularly at the end of every semester. The attendance of the students in the instruction work is monitored every week. The students who are having shortage of attendance were informed by post to their parents / guardians so that they advise their wards to be regular. The students, who are having poor academic performance, are advised to repeat the year / semester. The students with poor attendance are also detained as per University regulations.
